USES:
Caustic soda is used in Textile, Rayon, Soap, Paper & Pulp Industries. It also finds its application in Pharmaceutical, Dyes, Aluminium, Petrochemicals and Fertilizer Industries. It is also used for neutralization purposes in effluent treatment plants.
SAFE HANDLING:
Caustic soda is a highly corrosive & alkaline material. Contact with skin & eyes should be avoided. Protective equipments like hand gloves, face shields / goggles, apron and gumboots/safety shoes should be used while handling. In case of contact with eyes / skin, wash with plenty of water at least for 15 minutes and seek medical advise.
